You may want to also file a report with your local police department. There may not be an immediate arrest, but notification may help with further issues or with bank or identity theft concerns.
When a scam seems financially motivated, it’s important to take precautions including securing your personal information. Please ensure that your personal details (bank account numbers, Social Security number, etc.) are not compromised. Please be cautious of any unsolicited job offers, checks, or requests for personal information.
